Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup water or milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- A pinch of salt
- Orange slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
In a medium-sized saucepan, pour water or milk to a simmer. Now add the rolled oats, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for approximately five mins, stirring now and again. Now stir inside the dried cranberries and orange zest. Let the oats cook an additional 2-3 minutes until they reach desired consistency and the cranberries are soft. Now upload the sparkling orange juice to the oats and stir properly. If you like the taste of your oats, stir in honey or maple syrup. After this upload a pinch of salt and cinnamon to taste. Pour the oats right into the bowl and top with orange slices for extra flavor and serve. You can also sprinkle extra cinnamon or a handful of nuts for added texture.
