Greek Yogurt and Berry Oatmeal


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

Instructions:

In a bowl or jar, blend the rolled oats, Greek yogurt, and milk. Stir till the mixture is smooth and well mixed. Stir in the mixed berries. If the use frozen berries, they’ll thaw overnight and add a juicy burst of taste on your oats. If you opt for a sweeter taste, add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract. These will enhance the flavors of the oats and yogurt. If you want a thicker texture and a boost of fiber, stir within the chia seeds. Cover your bowl or jar and surround it in the fridge in a single day, or for at least 4 hours, to permit the oats to take in the liquid and soften. In the morning, give your oats a good stir. You can enjoy them instantly from the refrigerator or warm them up if desired. Top with greater berries or a sprinkle of granola for added crunch.
