Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 ½ cups water (or milk of your choice)
- ½ cup cooked horse gram (soaked and boiled)
- ¼ cup chopped ripe guava (seeds removed)
- 2 tablespoons cashews (toasted)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
- Pinch of salt
- Extra cashews and guava slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
In a medium saucepan, bring water (or milk) to a boil. After this add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for five-7 mins, stirring from time to time till the oats are cooked and feature absorbed the liquid. Stir within the cooked horse gram and chopped guava. Cook for an extra 2-three mins, allowing the guava to soften and the flavors to combine. Stir inside the toasted cashews and cardamom powder for a fragrant and nutty taste. If you choose a sweeter oatmeal, drizzle honey or maple syrup to taste. Divide the oatmeal into bowls and garnish with extra cashews and guava slices for texture and visual appeal. Serve warm and enjoy this nutrient-packed, flavorful breakfast!
