Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water or chicken broth
- 1/2 pound turkey sausage (crumbled)
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
In a medium saucepan, carry the water or chicken broth to a boil. Add the rolled oats and reduce the warmth. Let the oats simmer for approximately five minutes or until they reach your preferred consistency. In a separate skillet, warmness olive oil over medium heat. Add the crumbled turkey sausage and cook dinner till browned, about five-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set apart.Now upload the chopped onions and prepare dinner dinner for three mins till softened.After this add the sliced mushrooms and garlic, cooking for a few other 5 mins till the mushrooms are smooth and slightly browned. When the oats are cooked, stir in the turkey sausage, mushrooms, and onions. Mix nicely to mix and season with salt, pepper, and thyme if preferred. Spoon the savory oatmeal into bowls and garnish with sparkling parsley. Serve heat and experience!
